Genevieve and Pam flew to Las Vegas in May 2000, to witness the First Communion of Paul Wayne Martin, Genevieve's youngest grandchild.  They stayed at the home of Genevieve's stepson, Chuck.  While there, they were able to attend a little league baseball game in which Paul's older brother, C. Ray, was the star pitcher.  On the final evening in Las Vegas, they went to dinner on the Las Vegas "Strip" accompanied by son Doug, daughter Lori and stepson, Chuck and his family.  Genevieve had undergone extensive, life-threatening, open-heart surgery only 2 months before, but tolerated the trip very well.
